The story behind my sunglasses
I was walking in Ngara one day going towards Sarakasi dome and from the corner of my eye, I saw love..
The most beautiful vintage blue sunglasses that I never knew I needed. It was love at first sight and when I fall in love, I fall hard.
I had about a k spare in my wallet and I remember walking into that optician's shop with my fingers ice cold from the tension of meeting a new lover. I was going to buy them.
So I asked one of the attendants to help me get them and when I tried them on, woah.. I can't even describe what I felt. I walked to the counter to an old indinao guy and asked, "how much?" He told me, "2000, last price 1500".. Gosh, my heart sank a bit.. So I tried to haggle to get the price down to 1000 but he wouldn't budge.
I had no choice but to walk away, but I went back that same week 1500 in hand. As stupid fate would have it, I didn't find the old guy but some woman who insisted that the price was 4000.. I wanted to kill her. I wanted to cry.. I did neither.. I just walked away, this time my heart didn't sink, it broke into a million tiny pieces.
One day I'm chilling in town then I get some 5000 in my mpesa as down payment for a job that a new client, read architect, wanted me to do. This was totally out of the blue, he had been referred to me by one of my other architect clients. (I'm a civil engineer).
As you have guessed by now, I just marched to the shop in Ngara..
I found a different lady this time. She gave me the same 4000bob price but I was able to haggle it down to 3500.. Score! 500 bob off.
Anyway long story short, There is an optical shop in Ngara that has some really cool sunnies.. Check it out some time.

Contact lenses today offer some UV protection, but that isn’t enough. We need to wear something to cover the entire eye area, which is most susceptible to early signs of aging brought about by the sun’s rays.
